  Instrumentation - Moss Landing

Water Quality Instruments

The Moss Landing Marine Lab station uses a Seabird SBE 26 CTD that measures depth, temperature, salinity, and conductivity. The instrument also is equipped with a Wetlabs ECO-FLNTUS that measures chlorophyll fluorescence and turbidity.

Weather Measurements

Moss Landing uses a Campbell Scientific weather monitoring system equipped with the following sensors:

On-Line CICORE Data

All sites distribute the following in situ water quality data: water temperature, conductivity, salinity, and pressure (depth). Additional parameters include local currents, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, and chlorophyll fluorescence, and hydrocarbon fluorescence. Monitoring sites with weather stations distribute wind speed and direction, relative humidity, air temperature, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), precipitation and barometric pressure data.
