Regional Associations (RAs) integrate the ocean observing efforts within geographical defined regions of the U.S. coastline. At present there are 13 RAs nationwide. In California, there are two emerging regional associations:
CeNCOOS - Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System
SCCOOS - Southern California Coastal Ocean Observing System
CICORE predates these RAs and, since their inception, has been involved with their structure and development.
