The Environmental Bio-Optics Research Group at Old Dominion University provides CICORE with bio-optical ground truth support for the hyperspectral overflights. These data provide calibration values for atmospheric correction of the acquired images and physical characterization of water composition (e.g. pigment, CDOM and sediment content) and inherent optical properties (absorption, scattering and attenuation) needed for radiative transfer modeling of the target environments.
