Major Role in CICORE |
To obtain high-resolution (temporal) water quality measurements in nearshore coastal waters, to measure and compare an offshore coastal site to river and storm runoff waters off of Los Angeles, to work with other scientists to to collect and process remote imagery to observe spatial patterns in the coastal zone, and to make these data easily available to the public, other scientists and educators.

Time-series of water quality data at a depth of 1.5 meters from the surface (Los Angeles River in Long Beach, 10 miles west of Pt. Fermin on the continental shelf, test site at Fish Harbor in Los Angeles Harbor)
temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, chlorophyll and depth. Collected every 5 minutes beginning in late-2005.
